What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)? +
MCP — the Model Context Protocol — is the open standard that lets AI apps securely connect to external tools and data. CastHost runs an MCP server for your radio station, so any MCP-compatible app (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and more) can control it on your behalf, with your permission.
Which AI apps can control my station? +
Claude Desktop, Claude.ai on the web, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code (and Insiders), JetBrains AI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Cline, Zed, Continue, Windsurf — and more. You connect any of them in about a minute from your dashboard, and the current list is always shown there.
Is it secure? +
Yes. You approve each connection yourself, and every app only ever sees your own account — never anyone else's. Anything destructive asks you to confirm first, requests are rate-limited, and you can disconnect any app instantly from your dashboard.
Does it cost extra? +
No. AI Agent Control is free for every CastHost customer, including free trials. It's currently in beta, and we'd love your feedback while we build it out.
Do I need to be technical? +
Not at all. Setup is one click — pick your app, approve access, and start asking in plain language. There's nothing to install on a server and no code to write.
Can it mess up my station? +
It only does what you ask, and it confirms with you before anything irreversible — like deleting a track or taking your stream offline. You stay in control, and you can revoke access at any moment.
